Personal Statement: I believe in the natural process of labor and birth. Giving birth provides women an opportunity for self-discovery and to strengthen the couples bond. Women remember their children's births for the rest of their lives. I strive to help make that memory a beautiful one and a source of strength for each woman and each couple. I have been a certified childbirth educator since 2003 after having been inspired by the beautiful, empowering births of my own children. My desire to support women and couples through this transforming process naturally grew into providing doula support. I have been providing birth and postpartum doula support since 2005 with the same philosophy that honors their experience and individuality. I am committed to educating women and couples about their options for gentle birth, helping them build trust in the natural process & providing nurturing doula support. With these ideals I have supported over 150 women and their partners

Personal Statement: Shortly after the birth of my daughter, I was called to the work of a doula. I became fascinated and amazed at the birth process and the strength that lies within each of us. I decided to change my career path and assist laboring women, to give the power back to them and empower them to make the choices that are right for them and their families.
Every birth is different and beautiful. I thank each and every one of my clients (past and future) for allowing me in their intimate circle and for the trust we are building.

Personal Statement: I am passionate about supporting gentle, family centered birth- and in my services I seek to provide a unique, personal experience that allows families to journey through birth with confidence, and dignity. As a professional doula and photographer, I provide families with advocacy, devotion, encouragement and in that process create images that depict the power and tenderness of birth. My own births opened my eyes to the intense beauty of this process and I deeply want to honor that beauty in both my doula work and photography. Giving birth can transform a woman- it will challenge her, open her eyes to her power. It is an honor to be present, to witness and participate this amazing process.

Personal Statement: I am passionate about supporting women to have birth experiences where they feel safe, empowered, honored, and respected for their decisions. As my own two children have taught me, birth is the intersection of one's hopes, fears, instincts, sexuality, beliefs, cultural notions, and past experiences. At this intersection, we are provided a unique glimpse into who we are as people and how we can contribute to the world. It is here that parents are born, as well as babies.
In addition to being a birth doula I am a Certified Lactation Counselor through the Academy for Lactation Policy and Practice. I am honored to be a Board member of the Rhode Island Birth Network - an amazing resource for those interested in gentle birth options in RI. I am also the co-founder of the RI Home Birth Collective - a vibrant community working to increase the accessibility of home birth in RI, and provide resources, information, and support to those interested in and/or planning a home birth.

Important disclaimer: Doulas of Rhode Island is happy to pass along the names of our doula members. Please understand that DoRI is a doulas network and is not a credentialing agency or a regulatory body. As such, we cannot be accountable for the competence of members of the organization. DoRI urges all parents to take responsibility for their birth experience by informing themselves through asking questions, reading, obtaining local references and discussing care with other parents and care providers. We encourage you to interview and meet with several doulas to find someone with the right fit for your family. DoRI wishes you a happy and healthy birth and parenthood experience.
