Doula Training Scholarships

Our mission has been clearly stated since inception that we seek to ‘educate our community about doulas.’ Part of education is increasing access to both education about doula work and to individual member practices. As part of our mission, we started a scholarship fund to address inequities in maternal and infant healthcare by increasing diverse populations’ awareness of and access to doulas.

Thanks to Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI, we awarded the following 2026 scholarships:

New Doula Training: Shanice Jones, Sheanna Santos, China Yang &Isis Garcia-Fargas

Certified Lactation Counselor: Brandi Reed

Continuing Education: Ni'cole Whalen, Emily Frank & Rebecca Desa

2027 Scholarship Applications will be available in April 2027
