To pursue our mission of expanding the doula workforce in Rhode Island, Doulas of Rhode Island offers scholarships in our community.
Thanks to the support from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island in 2024, we have substantially grown the program and awarded a total of 7 individual scholarships between 2022-2024.

Scholarship #1
Three (3) separate $1000 scholarships to be put towards a doula training program or any continuing education opportunity.
These three scholarships are open to all in the community
The scholarships includes a one year membership to DoRI
Any Rhode Island based doula, birth worker or prospective birth worker is welcome to apply. You do not need to be a current member of DoRI
The recipient can choose the training and DoRI pays that organization directly.
Scholarship #2
A $500 scholarship towards the CLC (Certified Lactation Training) course with the Healthy Children Project.
All current Full members of DoRI are eligible for this scholarship
DoRI will pay the organization directly
Scholarship #3
Three (3) separate $500 scholarships available for a doula training or professional development training related to doula work.
Each scholarship is $500 for the training of your choice
Scholarships can be used to enhance your doula skills and/or business (including, but not limited to, Spinning Babies, abortion support or pregnancy and infant loss training, etc.)
All current Full members of DoRI are eligible for this scholarship
DoRI will pay the organization directly
